Our lab now offers Electron Backscattered Diffraction (EBSD) services for grain orientation mapping. This technique can be used to analyze grain orientation, grain size, phase ID and texture of crystalline materials.

All of our systems at EMIT are equipped with Energy Dispersive Spectrometers for x-ray chemical analysis of materials. With this technique we can measure most elements in the periodic table with detection limits down to 0.1 wt%. EDS chemical mapping using ChemiSEM is a powerful method for visualizing elemental distributions in your samples.
